A Different Approach to Autism and Other Illnesses

Did you know that 90% of your immune system is not in your blood, lymph, bone, etc., but in your gut!!!!! I have totally redesigned the way that I approach my patients’ wellness, and that is by fixing the gut and then the rest of the body will follow. Ninety percent of the neurotransmitters are not in the brain but in the gut!!! I get so frustrated with patients when I ask if they or their child is on a gluten-free/casein-free diet, and the answer is “almost.” Well, this is not going to get the job done if you want to turn around the immune system. I have seen autistic children get worse, not better, when they switch to gluten-free diets, because the parents are using gluten-free products and these are just as bad in many ways on the gut. We need to step back and look at disease from a different angle.

The gut starts with the nasal passage and mouth and goes through the anus. When a baby is born it is exposed immediately, even when coming out of the mother’s body, to drugs that the mother has been given during delivery, and these drugs get in the nasal passage and mouth of the baby. There are drugs given with C-sections and most mothers are given some type of drug during delivery. The baby is then breast fed with milk that has drugs in it from the mother or a formula which is synthetic. If the baby is born premature, it is then on a host of medications; all of these get through to the gut. Immediately the gut starts off at birth being “contaminated.” In most cases the hospitals now insist on hepatitis vaccines for all the newborns before they even leave the hospital. Many babies are born with thrush, which is a fungal overgrowth. Babies are given all kinds of medications from birth, which sets up the gut dysfunction.

All of these drugs and chemicals from birth start the growth of fungi, bacteria, etc., and these bacteria, etc., then start to produce a gelatinous substance called biofilm, and because these bacteria, fungi, mycotoxins, parasites, etc., clump and share a biofilm, they wage war against the intestinal wall and the immune system in the gut. This biofilm then has the ability to attract and house heavy metals, drugs, etc. The biofilm hardens and becomes resistant to removal from the gut wall, which leads to leaky gut syndrome and other gut and immune system issues according to Dr. Alejandro Junger in his book, Clean Gut. All of this plays a role on our immune system function; 90% to be exact!!!!! That includes autism, heart disease, diabetes, Crohn’s disease, Lyme disease, hepatitis, etc. Fix the gut and you have a 90% chance of fixing the patient!!!!!!!

The next question is: how do we fix the gut? Well, the answer is fairly simple, but most patients start putting up barriers immediately as to why they cannot do this. The answer is to eat fresh, organic, whole foods, in other words, nothing that comes from a box or can (nothing packaged) not even organic packaged foods, because the gut recognizes the preservatives even in organic food as a toxin. The diet should consist of 80% fresh greens, vegetables and fruits, with only 20% protein.

Contact / Protocol

For a more complete profile of my autoimmune protocol, feel free to contact me at 336-653-8113. There are specific supplements that must be added and other notations of the diet, but it is better to contact my office for the information, because each illness and each patient is different and will require different adjustments to the protocol.

I need to add that the results have been impressive with 100% of my patients. Autistic parents have said that they cannot do the diet, because their child will only eat certain things. That is a case of the child being in control of the parent.

The autistic parents who have tried the new “gut” approach have raved about the results. I have told parents to stop thinking about the brain and liver, because it is the gut they need to concentrate on. The proof has definitely been in the practice.
